Should CP3 be in the MVP Conversation?

Photo From: Suns Instagram

The Phoenix Suns franchise should take a second, and just commend Chris Paul, because they haven't made the playoffs in the past 10 years, and here they are with the second-best record and the league. And who do they owe that all to? CHRIS FREAKING PAUL. Yes, yes, I get it you can also give praise to players such as Deandre Ayton and Devin Booker, but I'm telling you, Chris Paul is the reason they are in this position. But is it enough to be a part of the MVP conversation?

Chris Paul got traded to the Phoenix Suns from the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he once again showed us he is one of the most influential, intelligent players in the NBA. Chris Paul brings so much to each team he is on, one of the best floor generals that we have seen, unlike other guards his main focus isn't to score, score, score (Gives me John Stockton, Jason Kidd vibes). Paul has really found his place with this Suns team, from giving Cam Johnson and Mikal Bridges more opportunities, his almost perfect pick-and-roll with Ayton, it's tough to say that this team has only been together for one season. I mean, it seems like he has made everybody's role much easier than they are used to.

This season, Paul is averaging 16.2 points, 8.8 assists, 4.5 rebounds, along with 1.4 steals per game, which yes is hard to compare to other MVP candidates such as Nikola Jokic, and Joel Embiid. But, Paul is doing more than facilitating and taking over on the offensive end, but he's also making tons of noise on the defensive end. He’s generating turnovers, he raised not only his defensive rating but helped multiple others on his team raise their defensive rating, HE'S DOING IT ALL.

Forget offense. Forget defense. LEADERSHIP is the key asset that made this biggest contribution to this Suns team. He knows exactly how to get each player-focused, he knows exactly how to make his teammates' game easier. He studies his opponents, he goes into each game with hours of film knowledge, to know what should be done in each situation. CP3 has taken Phoenix to a whole new level this season, just as we have seen in the past.

He has clearly once again shocked many viewers with the success of his team but is this enough to be worthy of the MVP award this current season? MOST LIKELY NOT. Yes, I have been bragging about him this whole article, but compared to other candidates we see, I don't see Paul having any chance of snagging this MVP award, but as for being talked about more for being a future Hall Of Famer, TALK ABOUT IT. HE DESERVES IT.
