After a nail-biting win to the Miami Hurricanes, FSU basketball continues to rise on the charts now taking place of the No.5 seed in the latest AP Top 25 poll. Entering this season unranked, and a loss for the first game, FSU wasn't on the top of everyone's mind, but head coach Leonard Hamilton did a great job of molding the team and creating strong chemistry between the boys. It certainly helped that teams ranked above them such as Duke, Auburn, and Butler lost, but that doesn't damper their success in any way. After their ninth consecutive win not only are they top five since the first two weeks of the 1972-73 season but they are now ranked No.1 in the ACC conference. As seen in previous years, once the Noles broke through the top 25 they would quickly lose the next game letting down their fans, but that's not the case this year. Considering they have difficult games coming up, they need to keep up this energy and continue to elevate their game. Teams like National Champs UVA and No. 6 Louisville patiently await their rematch with Florida State hoping for a different outcome, while other teams such as No.8 Duke wait for their first head to head matchup this season. Florida State fans are also waiting excitedly for this Duke and FSU matchup considering last season the Noles were so close to beating the Blue Devils for only the second time in the history of Florida State basketball. This coming weekend the FSU will face Notre Dame to hopefully secure their tenth straight win. With a certain couple of players that consistently step up, do they have enough to continue climbing the charts?
